New Trustees join the Board
In January we were delighted to welcome Dr Tim Wilson and Mr Michael Tait to the Charity’s Board of Trustees. Tim has lived in Ewelme since 1990 and was the village GP until 2007, after which he moved to work in national and international health policy. Tim has provided advice and support to Governments, Ministers of Health and their teams on large-scale health care transformation programmes. He still works part-time. Tim is Chair of Henley Choral Society and is active in village life, working in the village store, supporting the group Working to Restore Ewelme’s Nature (WREN), leading work to bring ultrafast broadband to the village and many other activities. Tim is a keen gardener, baker and cyclist. He lives with his wife, Louise, and has two adult children, both of whom were born locally and went to Ewelme Primary School.
Mike brings to the Charity a wealth of business knowledge and experience. He originally trained as an engineer before moving into business management with companies such as Argos and Tesco. Board level experience followed in the computer industry, where Mike was involved in running an international division of one of the world’s largest computer companies. Since then, Mike has been chief executive or chairman of venture capital backed businesses and is often tasked with turning companies around. Mike led the building of the largest Starbucks franchise in the UK with 40 very profitable stores, and was also Chairman of Coffee Nation which
went on to become Costa Express. Over the past 5 years, Mike has been Chair or Vice Chair of a Multi-Academy education trust. Mike lives in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire and has three grown up sons. His interests include walking the countryside and property development where he carries out almost all the renovation work himself.
